The Poesten Kill drops through a deep gorge in Troy in five drops. Waterfall Record describes a short walk from the Linden Avenue park entrance to a main overlook of the largest drop. An Upstate Sports hiking article says top-down views are available curbside from Congress Street and that swimming or climbing near the main waterfall is strictly prohibited. A WNYT report says Troy city leaders prohibit public access to the gorge itself, including swimming or climbing, and that trespassers can be fined $250. View the falls only from the overlook or the street; do not enter the gorge.
