Upper Waikani Falls, also called Three Bears Falls, is a roughly 70-foot waterfall with three side-by-side streams beside a bridge on the Hana Highway, about 0.3 miles past mile marker 19. View it from the roadside. A slippery path on either side of the bridge leads down to the base; the mountain side is steeper. Watch for traffic when walking on the highway.

Sources describe the falls as seen from the road at the bridge, about 0.3 miles past mile marker 19. No walking distance is published; how far you walk depends on where you find parking.

Where to start

A small turnout before the bridge, which fills quickly; tour buses stop here. A visitor account says to park off the highway with all wheels off the road; they found space a few hundred yards past the bridge.

Timing & water

After heavy rain the three streams join into one. Do not drink the water; leptospirosis may be present.
